Your Frames
How to connect, manage, and control the screens that display your LumiFrame slideshows.
#Your Frames
A "frame" in LumiFrame is any screen that displays your photos and videos — a smart TV, a tablet on a stand, a dedicated digital photo frame, or any device running the LumiFrame app. This guide covers everything from connecting your first frame to controlling what's playing remotely.
#Connecting a frame
Before a screen can display your content, you need to pair it with your phone.
- On your frame device, open the LumiFrame app. It will show a pairing code.
- On your phone, go to Frames and tap the + button.
- Enter the pairing code shown on the frame.
- Give the frame a name — like "Living Room TV" or "Kitchen Tablet" — and tap Save.
Your frame is now connected and will appear in your Frames list.
Tip: Both devices need an internet connection during pairing, but they don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi network for day-to-day use.
#Starting a slideshow
- Go to Frames and tap the frame you want to use.
- Tap Start Slideshow.
- Choose an album.
- The slideshow begins on your frame.
To customise transitions, timing, and display options, see Slideshow Settings.
#Controlling your frame remotely
Once a slideshow is running, you can control it directly from your phone — no need to walk up to the screen:
- Pause / Resume — Tap the pause button on the frame's detail screen.
- Skip — Jump to the next or previous photo.
- Change album — Stop the current slideshow and pick a different album.
- Volume — If your frame is playing video with audio, adjust the volume from here.
#Casting to a TV
If you want to display a slideshow on a TV that doesn't have the LumiFrame app, you can cast to it using AirPlay or Chromecast.
- Go to Frames and tap Cast (or look for the cast icon).
- LumiFrame will scan for available devices on your network.
- Select your TV or streaming device.
- Choose an album and start playing.
For the best casting experience, make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
#Frame settings
To adjust how a specific frame behaves:
- Go to Frames and tap the frame name.
- Tap the Settings icon.
From here you can set:
- Display name — Rename the frame.
- Clock / Screensaver mode — What to show when the frame is idle. See Clock & Screensaver.
- Auto-play — Whether the frame starts a slideshow automatically when it opens.
- Orientation — Landscape or portrait, to match how your screen is mounted.
#Managing multiple frames
LumiFrame supports as many frames as you like. Each one can show a different album, and you can control them all from a single phone.
The Frames screen gives you an at-a-glance view of every connected frame — including whether it's online, offline, playing, or idle.
#Removing a frame
- Go to Frames and tap the frame.
- Tap Settings → Remove Frame and confirm.
Removing a frame disconnects it from your account but doesn't affect your albums or photos.
