Cloud Sources & Integrations
How to connect Google Photos, Dropbox, or OneDrive to LumiFrame and import your existing photo libraries.
#Cloud Sources & Integrations
LumiFrame can connect to your existing cloud photo libraries so you don't have to re-upload everything. Link your Google Photos, Dropbox, or OneDrive account and import photos and videos directly into your albums.
Elite feature: Cloud source integrations require an Elite plan. See Premium & Plans for details.
#Supported cloud sources
| Provider | What you can import | |----------|-------------------| | Google Photos | Photos and videos from your Google Photos library, including albums | | Dropbox | Photos and videos from any Dropbox folder | | OneDrive | Photos and videos from your OneDrive, including Camera Roll |
#Connecting a cloud account
- Go to Settings → Media Management → Connected Sources.
- Tap the provider you want to connect (e.g. Google Photos).
- You'll be redirected to that provider's sign-in page. Log in and grant LumiFrame permission to read your photos.
- Once connected, the provider appears in your Connected Sources list with a green checkmark.
Privacy note: LumiFrame only requests read access to your photos. It cannot modify, delete, or reorganise anything in your cloud account.
You can connect multiple providers at the same time.
#Importing photos and videos
Once connected, your cloud sources appear as an option whenever you add media to an album:
- Open any album and tap Add Media.
- Switch to the Cloud Sources tab.
- Select your provider.
- Browse your cloud library — use folders, albums, or search to find what you want.
- Tap items to select them, then tap Done.
The selected items are imported into your LumiFrame album. Depending on file size and your internet speed, this may take a moment.
#Selective import
You don't need to import your entire library. Pick only the photos and videos you want on your frames — you can always come back and import more later.
#Sync behaviour
Cloud source imports are one-way snapshots. When you import a photo from Google Photos:
- A copy is stored in LumiFrame's cloud so your frames can always access it.
- If you later delete the original from Google Photos, the LumiFrame copy is unaffected.
- If you edit the original in Google Photos (crop, filter, etc.), the LumiFrame copy keeps the version you imported.
To get an updated version, simply re-import the photo.
#Managing connected accounts
To view or disconnect a cloud source:
- Go to Settings → Media Management → Connected Sources.
- Tap a connected provider to see details.
- Tap Disconnect to revoke access.
Disconnecting a provider does not remove any media you've already imported into albums. It just stops you from importing new content from that provider until you reconnect.
#Troubleshooting
#"Unable to connect" error
- Check your internet connection.
- Make sure you're signing in with the correct account.
- If you previously revoked LumiFrame's access in your provider's settings (e.g. Google Account → Security → Third-party apps), you'll need to re-authorise.
#Photos appear blurry after import
- LumiFrame imports the full-resolution version. If a photo looks blurry, the import may still be processing — wait a minute and check again.
- On very slow connections, a low-resolution preview may appear first while the full version downloads.
#Provider not listed
Cloud source support varies by platform. If you don't see a provider you expect, check that your LumiFrame app is up to date and that you're on the Elite plan.
