Appearance & Themes

Personalise the look and feel of LumiFrame — themes, light and dark mode, animations, and your startup screen.

#Appearance & Themes

LumiFrame is designed to look beautiful on any device. The Appearance settings let you tailor the visual experience to your taste — from the colour theme to how the app behaves when you open it.

Open these settings from Settings → Appearance.

#Light mode, dark mode, or automatic

Choose how the app looks based on lighting and preference:

  • Light — A bright, airy look.
  • Dark — Easier on the eyes in low-light environments, and more cinematic for photo browsing.
  • System — Follows your device's system setting automatically, switching between light and dark as you move through the day.

#App themes

Beyond light and dark, LumiFrame offers a selection of colour themes that change the app's accents and tonal palette. Tap App Theme to browse and select one.

Your current theme is shown with a checkmark. Tap any option to preview and apply it instantly.

#Startup screen

Choose which screen opens when you launch the app:

  • Last Used (recommended) — The app returns to wherever you left off.
  • Memories — Always opens your main feed.
  • Albums — Goes straight to your album library.
  • Frames — Opens the Frames screen to quickly check or control connected screens.

Last Used works well for most people — it gets you back to what you were doing without any extra taps.

#Animations & visual effects

#Animations

LumiFrame uses smooth entrance animations and transitions throughout the app. If you find them distracting or if the app feels slow on your device, you can turn them off:

  • Toggle Enable Animations off for instant, snappy navigation.

This also helps if you have motion sensitivity — the app respects your device's Reduce Motion accessibility setting automatically.

#Particles

The particle backgrounds add a subtle, dynamic depth to certain screens. They look great but use a little extra processing power.

  • Toggle Particles off if you notice the app running warm, or if you prefer a cleaner look.

#Haptic feedback

A gentle vibration when you tap buttons and interact with the app. Turn this off if you prefer a silent experience.

#Performance mode

If you're on an older device or notice the app running slowly, enable Performance Mode from the header of the Appearance screen. This disables heavier visual effects (particles, complex animations) in one tap, without you having to find every individual toggle.
