Security & Passcode
How to set up a passcode, use Face ID or Touch ID, and protect your slideshow from being interrupted.
#Security & Passcode
LumiFrame lets you add a passcode to protect the app itself, and a separate one to lock your slideshow so it can't be stopped or changed without permission. Here's how both work.
#Setting up an app passcode
An app passcode locks LumiFrame so only you can open it.
- Go to Settings → Security.
- Tap Set Passcode.
- Enter a 4-digit code.
- Re-enter the same code to confirm.
From now on, LumiFrame will ask for this code each time it opens.
If your entries don't match, you'll be asked to start over.
#Unlocking with Face ID or Touch ID
If your device supports biometrics, you can use Face ID or Touch ID instead of typing your passcode every time.
- Go to Settings → Security.
- Enable Face ID or Touch ID.
LumiFrame will prompt for biometric authentication when it opens. If it fails (for example, if your face isn't recognised), you can always fall back to your passcode.
#Setting a slideshow passcode
A slideshow passcode is separate from the app passcode. It prevents anyone from stopping or changing what's playing on a frame — useful for frames in a living room or shared space.
- Go to Settings → Slideshow Settings → Security.
- Enable Slideshow Passcode and set a 4-digit code.
Anyone who taps the screen while the slideshow is running will need to enter this code to make changes.
To remove the slideshow passcode, go back to the same setting and tap Remove Passcode — you'll need to enter the current code first.
#Forgot your passcode?
- On the passcode entry screen, tap Forgot Passcode?
- Enter your account email address.
- Check your inbox for a verification code and enter it.
- Set a new passcode.
#Tips for keeping your frames secure
- Use a passcode that's different from your phone's lock screen PIN.
- Enable biometrics for convenience without sacrificing security.
- If your frame is in a shared space like an office or lobby, a slideshow passcode is a great idea.
