Sharing & Collaboration

How to share albums, invite people, manage their access, and collaborate on memories together.

#Sharing & Collaboration

LumiFrame is built for sharing memories with the people who matter most. You can invite family members or friends to contribute to shared albums, control exactly what they can see and do, and collaborate in real time across different devices.

#Sharing an album

When you share an album, you invite specific people to access it. They'll be able to view (and optionally contribute to) the album from their own LumiFrame app.

  1. Open the album you want to share.
  2. Tap the Share button (or go to •••Access & Sharing).
  3. Tap Invite People.
  4. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
  5. Choose their role (see below).
  6. Tap Send Invite.

They'll receive an email invitation. Once accepted, the album will appear in their LumiFrame app.

#Understanding roles

When you invite someone, you choose what they can do:

| Role | Can view | Can add media | Can invite others | Can manage the album | |---|---|---|---|---| | Viewer | ✓ | — | — | — | | Contributor | ✓ | ✓ | — | — | | Editor | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | — | | Admin | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |

Viewer is the most restricted — great for friends or extended family you want to see the album but not change it. Contributor is perfect for family members who should be adding their own photos. Admin gives full control, as if they were a co-owner.

#Managing access

To see who has access and make changes:

  1. Open the album.
  2. Tap •••Access & Sharing.

From here you can:

  • Change someone's role — Tap their name and choose a new role.
  • Remove someone — Tap their name → Remove Access.
  • Resend an invite — If someone hasn't accepted yet, tap their pending invite → Resend.
  • Cancel a pending invite — Tap the invite → Cancel Invite.

#Groups

Groups let you manage access for multiple people together. Instead of inviting individuals one by one, you create a group, add members to it, and then share albums with the whole group at once.

This is especially useful for families or recurring teams — add everyone to a "Family" group once, and then any album you share with that group is shared with all of them instantly.

To create a group:

  1. Go to Settings → Access & Sharing → Groups.
  2. Tap Create Group and give it a name.
  3. Tap Add Members and invite people by email.

To share an album with a group:

  1. Open the album → Access & Sharing.
  2. Tap Invite and choose Group instead of an individual.
  3. Select the group and choose a role for all members.

#Accepting an invitation

When someone invites you to their album, you'll receive an email with an Accept Invite link.

  1. Tap the link in the email.
  2. If you don't have a LumiFrame account yet, you'll be guided to create one.
  3. Once signed in, the shared album will appear in your Albums list under the Shared tab.

You can also accept invitations from inside the app — go to Activity and look for any pending invite notifications.

#Leaving a shared album

If you've been invited to someone else's album and want to leave:

  1. Open the album.
  2. Tap •••Leave Album.
  3. Confirm.

You'll no longer see the album or its contents.

#Sharing content outside LumiFrame

To share an individual photo or video with someone who doesn't use LumiFrame:

  1. Open the photo or video.
  2. Tap the Share icon.
  3. Choose how you'd like to share it (Messages, email, AirDrop, etc.).

This shares a copy of the file, not a link into the app.
